Founded by Dr Henrietta Cook MRCGP MBBS, Avena Clinic is a doctor-led medical aesthetics clinic specialising in natural, subtle enhancements.​

At the heart of Avena Clinic’s philosophy is a personalised, whole-person approach to skin health. As a GP, Dr Hen combines her medical expertise with a a holistic ethos, treating the skin from the inside out. This means that alongside bespoke treatment protocols tailored to your unique anatomy, Dr Hen also addresses the internal factors that influence skin health, including lifestyle, nutrition, overall well-being and hormonal changes such as those experienced during menopause. Through advanced skin and aesthetic treatments, personalised skincare, supplement recommendations and tailored lifestyle advice, Dr Hen takes a 360-degree approach to achieving radiant, healthy skin that lasts.

The name "Avena" derives from the Latin term for the oat plant. Oats have long been recognised for their skin-soothing and nourishing properties, making them a popular ingredient in skincare. Given our focus on skin health, the name resonates deeply.

Avena Clinic is run by a husband-and-wife team, with Dr Hen performing all treatments and Richard managing the clinic’s operations. Together, we are dedicated to providing personalised care that empowers you to feel your most confident, inside and out.​

Dr Hen
Founder and Medical Director
Dr Henrietta Cook MRCGP MBBS is a fully qualified GP and aesthetic skin doctor registered with the General Medical Council and the Royal College of General Practitioners.

With over a decade of medical training, Dr Hen graduated with Distinction in Medicine & Surgery from King’s College London. She has advanced credentials in Aesthetic Medicine, a delegate of the Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies - the highest qualification attainable for cosmetic doctors in the UK.

Specialising in advanced facial rejuvenation and aesthetic dermatology, Dr Hen continuously keeps her skills up to date through regular and active participation in cosmetic medicine conferences. This dedication ensures that she stays at the forefront of her field, providing you with expert care and the latest advancements in aesthetic medicine.
Richard
Managing Director
Richard Leung is the full-time Managing Director of Avena Clinic. With a BSc in Economics from Bath University where he graduated in 2013, he oversees the non-clinical aspects of the business.
Before assuming his role at Avena Clinic, Richard spent a decade working in the financial sector. Motivated by a desire for fresh challenges, he made the decision to embark on a new path in business.
His role encompasses a wide spectrum of responsibilities, from managing various aspects of business operations to formulating impactful marketing strategies. Overall, Richard ensures the seamless coordination of functions at Avena Clinic.
