Chemical Peels
Exfoliate Your Skin To Reveal A Healthy Glow
A chemical peel is a treatment in which a specialised solution is applied to the skin to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, encouraging the regeneration of fresh, healthier skin. At Avena Clinic, we use a peel that contains a unique blend of Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), amino acids, vitamin C, glutathione and hyaluronic acid, designed to deliver transformative results while remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin.

FAQs
Is this suitable for skin of colour?
Yes. The specific peel we use at Avena Clinic is suitable and effective for all skin tones, including Asian and Black skin. This is one of the reasons we chose it.

How quickly will I see results?
For optimal results, an induction course of 4 sessions spaced 10 days apart is recommended. Results can usually be seen within a few days to a week after the treatment. You may notice improved skin texture, a more radiant complexion, and reduced signs of ageing or pigmentation. However, the full effects, such as enhanced skin clarity and smoother texture, typically become more evident after 2 to 3 weeks as the skin continues to renew and rejuvenate.

Why is the induction course every 7-10 days?
The 7–10 day interval aligns with the skin's natural regeneration process, as the average skin cell turnover cycle is 28 days. By spacing sessions 7–10 days apart, you stimulate cell renewal more frequently, allowing the active ingredients to work progressively and build on each session's results. Longer gaps could slow this cumulative effect, whereas consistent, shorter intervals optimise the skin's ability to renew, leading to more noticeable improvements in the skin.

Does it hurt?
You may feel a slight tingling or mild stinging sensation as the peel is applied, but this is brief and subsides quickly
Is there downtime?
This is a minimal downtime peel. Some people experience no downtime, others may experience slight redness or mild peeling/flaking for up to seven days

How long will my results last?
Results typically last between 3 to 6 months. If your maintenance treatment is scheduled within 6 months, you’ll qualify for our discounted maintenance price. If a gap of over 6 months occurs between peels, it is recommended for the induction course to be repeated.
We look forward to seeing you at Avena Clinic to explore how we can tailor your unique plan.
